Robert Cook photography practices the use of everyday situations and objects to convey and provoke deeper thoughts. Crisp images will usually involve different photographic techniques to draw in the viewers attention. When practising the craft of photography for leisure, I delve more into the documentary side of the spectrum through my use of semiotics. 

I have a burning desire to succeed in every activity I find myself engaged in. Strict deadlines and targets are welcomed with the utmost enthusiasm and determination.  Iā€™m a highly organised individual, capable of working on my own initiative and able to prioritise my workload with ease. My approachable personality fits well in a team environment. I have competent computer skills including; Photoshop editing, competent Final Cut Pro video editing and Indesign.

Photographic Experience

TO BE FRANK, LONDON - 2013

This role involved working as a freelance photographer on an ad hoc basis during the brand's fashion parties and events as well as on shoots for promotional purposes. 

FIDGETBOX, MAIDENHEAD - 2012

I was assigned to accompany and take video thumbnail photographs with both directors of the company whilst they carried jobs creating promotional videos for external companies and inspiring videos of young entrepreneurs. Their inspirational videos can be found on fidgitbox.com. 

ANCIENT GREEK SANDALS, LONDON - 2012

I gained work with Ancient Greek Sandals through a fashion agency called Rainbowwave. The company handles sales and communications for all the brands they represent. I was asked to provide a well lit, simple shot of three sandal designs that were to be used for press purposes for numerous fashion magazines.

HUGH HARDIE MUSIC, CAMBRIDGE - 2012/2013

An upcoming musician from Cambridge had interest from an online underground London music culture website that requested an interview and an image to accompany. The artist, Hugh Hardie, had sent out a request for a photographer online, to which I replied my interest. The task in hand was to create an artist portrait shot involving a music orientated concept that would be formatted for use on the internet site in-reach.co.uk.

IAM VIP, CAMBRIDGE - 2011

A national events company, I was hired to take photographs of revellers at numerous weekly events as well as assist with sales for photography relevant merchandise on offer during the event. This role also involved a fast turnaround to edit and upload images within 24 hours.  

SCIENCE SKATEBOARDS, SHEFFIELD - 2006

I was assigned by scienceskateboards.co.uk (based in London) to take profile pictures of two of their sponsors in Sheffield. The photographs were later published in Barely Original magazine.

2:1 BA (Hons) degree in Photography (Contemporary Practice) from the University of the Creative Arts (Rochester).
